Info & News

Colloquial  is edited by Ahrend Torrey, who is a poet, painter, spiritual seeker, and a creative writing graduate from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. When he is not writing, teaching, or editing Colloquial, he enjoys the everyday things of life, like walking around Bayou St. John with his partner, and their two rat terriers Dichter and Dova. The poets that inspire him most include Mary Oliver, Ted Kooser, Langston Hughes, Walt Whitman, Gwendolyn Brooks, Li- Young Lee, Kim Addonizio, and William Carlos Williams.

Colloquial  is coedited by Jonathan Dacula, who is over copyediting and design. Jonathan is an English Writing graduate from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA, and an educational equity advocate. Connectedness is his main strength, as he constantly strives to recognize and value the interconnectedness of all people. Jonathan draws inspiration and passion in life from the loved ones that surround him daily: his loving partner, his supportive mother and sister, and his friends.
